Process Shift Electrician

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical systems, electronic equipment, and machinery within the processing plant
• Diagnose and rectify faults during unscheduled downtime or power outages to maximize plant availability
• Install, calibrate, and maintain all instrumentation including DCS
• Modify and upgrade PLC programs as required
• Update electrical circuit drawings to ensure accuracy after modifications
• Perform maintenance repairs and improvements to electrical equipment according to safety standards
• Record all work and modifications for historical records and maintain accurate timesheets
• Participate in pre-shift safety and toolbox meetings and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

Requirements

• Formal Electrical trade qualification
• Current registration with the Electrical Workers Registration Board
• Essential exposure to PLCs, control systems, and instrumentation
• Full and current Driver Licence
• Unrestricted New Zealand work rights

Preferred Qualifications

• Up to 5 years of post-apprenticeship experience in processing or heavy industry
• New Zealand electrical mining endorsement
• Experience with high voltage switching
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Ability to drive manual vehicles
