About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering leadership and risk management solutions for ExxonMobil’s operating facilities worldwide to ensure safe and reliable operations.
- Deliver high-quality technical engineering solutions to manage critical risk scenarios, including explosion effects analysis, facility siting, and consequence analysis.
- Lead and implement safety in design standards for greenfield, brownfield, and existing production facilities.
- Lead Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies and execute other essential project deliverables.
- Develop and execute quantitative and qualitative risk screenings, assessments, and consequence modelling using tools like PHAST.
- Define fire protection design requirements, including Fire & Gas Mapping and reviewing new system designs.
- Provide capital project engineering support through the development and deployment of Project Risk Assessment and Management Plans (RAMP).
- Collaborate with global stakeholders and risk owners across different time zones to drive effective risk management decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related Petroleum Engineering field.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience in the petrochemical or oil and gas industry.
- Minimum 3 years of specific work experience in Process Safety Engineering, Loss Prevention, or Risk Engineering.
- Expertise in hazard identification and risk analysis methodologies (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, Event Tree Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis).
- Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards such as ASME, API, NFPA, ANSI, and IEC.
- Ability to work non-standard hours to collaborate with global teams and willingness to travel to international facilities as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with engineering software tools such as PHAST, PHA-Pro, or Flare Sim.
- Prior experience working directly within a manufacturing or production facility.
