Process Safety Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership and risk management solutions for global operating facilities to ensure safe and reliable operations.
• Lead and facilitate Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies and execute other project deliverables.
• Perform process safety engineering tasks including explosion effects analysis, facility siting, consequence analysis, and dispersion modeling.
• Develop and execute Quantitative and Qualitative Risk Screenings and Assessments.
• Design and modify fire protection requirements, including Fire & Gas Mapping.
• Collaborate with risk owners and stakeholders to drive sound risk management decisions.
• Implement Safety in Design Standards for greenfield, brownfield, and existing production facilities.
• Serve as a technical mentor to enhance team functional skill proficiencies and competency development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the petrochemical or oil and gas industry.
• At least 3 years of specific experience in Process Safety Engineering roles.
• Demonstrated competency in hazard identification and risk analysis methodologies (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, ETA, FTA).
• Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards such as ASME, API, NFPA, ANSI, and IEC.
• Proficiency with engineering software tools such as PHAST, Hysys, Flarenet, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working directly within a manufacturing or production facility.
• Experience with specialized tools like PHA-Pro, FlareSim, or Pipenet/AFT.
