About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide process monitoring and optimization support to Specialty Operations assets to evaluate plant performance.
- Develop, validate, and maintain detailed process simulation models to evaluate designs and operating scenarios.
- Conduct hydraulic analyses, equipment sizing, and capacity checks to support new projects or modifications via the MOC process.
- Monitor process performance and product quality trends to ensure compliance with operational targets.
- Identify opportunities for unit optimization, reliability improvements, and integrity operating window (IOW) responses.
- Revalidate relief load calculations and reassess overpressure protection systems.
- Coordinate and participate in HAZOP studies to manage process safety.
- Provide analytical support for complex troubleshooting and investigation teams.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of process engineering experience in petroleum refinery processes or specialty chemicals technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a similar discipline from an appropriately certified university.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Pro II and/or Aspen Hysys modeling software.
- Familiarity with ASME and API codes and standards.
- Experience with PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, Root Cause Analysis, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Knowledge of batch, semi-batch, and continuous process units, as well as solids transport and filtration technology.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively across functional groups and at all staff levels.
