Process & Methods Engineer

Responsibilities

• Analyze defects, rework, line losses, and torque escapes using Root Cause Analysis (5-Why, 8D) and implement countermeasures.
• Drive Kaizen, poka-yoke, and standardization initiatives to improve right-first-time assembly.
• Optimize cycle time, line balance, and ergonomics through method studies and workstation improvements.
• Support production trials, ramp-up, and SOP stabilization by closing process and facility gaps.
• Monitor and improve quality KPIs, including DPV, fit/finish, noise risk, and fastening quality.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Facility teams for process implementation and sustainment.
• Update and standardize SOPs, Work Instructions (WI), PFMEA, and Control Plans based on continuous improvements.
• Track actions and benefits, reporting progress and sustainability to management.

Requirements

• 3 to 7 years of experience in process or methods engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis (5-Why, 8D).
• Strong knowledge of Kaizen, Poka-yoke, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
• Experience with SOP and Work Instruction (WI) standardization.
• Ability to work onsite in Mahindra City/Oragadam, Chennai.
