Process Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the Process Engineering area, providing technical support to operations and ensuring continuous development of production processes.
• Manage process improvement initiatives to increase productivity, operational efficiency, and cost reduction.
• Supervise the development, optimization, and scale-up of biotechnological processes, including fermentation and associated unit operations.
• Conduct technical investigations to resolve process issues and implement robust solutions.
• Define process control and monitoring strategies to ensure operational stability and product quality.
• Coordinate engineering studies, including mass and energy balances and technical feasibility analyses.
• Lead industrial investment projects and define technical requirements for new equipment and systems.
• Maintain technical documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, and operational manuals.
• Conduct process risk analyses using HAZOP, LOPA, or similar methodologies.
• Manage and develop a team of process engineers, promoting technical training and professional growth.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid experience in process engineering within the biotechnology, chemical, pharmaceutical, or food industries.
• Proven experience with biotechnological processes, specifically fermentation and unit operations.
• Experience in technical team management and leading industrial projects.
• Proficiency in interpreting and creating PFDs and P&IDs.
• Knowledge of process safety and risk analysis methodologies such as HAZOP or LOPA.
• Experience with continuous improvement tools and process performance analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-graduate degree or MBA in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related areas.
