Process Engineer

Responsibilities

• Use additive manufacturing data preparation software like Materialise Magics or Autodesk NetFabb to create printing plans
• Develop part printing processes based on first principles, materials characterization, and modeling results
• Design processes to achieve specific geometrical features such as overhangs, bridges, and thin walls
• Optimize process parameters including laser, gas flow, thermal, and powder spreading
• Conduct Design of Experiments (DOEs), operate printers, and generate test reports
• Guide technicians in the post-processing of printed parts
• Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on production and ancillary equipment
• Collaborate with design engineers to enhance printer performance

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in an engineering discipline
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or R&D
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in commercial metal AM manufacturing facilities
• Experience in Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) based metal printing
• Experience in laser welding of ferrous and nonferrous metals
• Experience designing and operating sophisticated industrial equipment
• Background in metallurgy, solid state physics, or mechanical design
