About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and enhance paint shop processes
  • Provide technical support for automotive industrial paint processes and troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Collaborate with Production and Maintenance to scope and implement new equipment
  • Support processing standards for new product launches
  • Act as a technical resource for the paint department and lead cross-functional improvement projects
  • Create work instructions and workflow designs to improve manufacturing operations
  • Develop and procure new tooling and modifications to existing fixtures
  • Conduct hands-on training for manufacturing employees on products, processes, and equipment
  • Lead company safety programs including inspections and documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial/mechanical engineering or related field (or equivalent relevant work experience)
  • At least 2 years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in industrial automotive painting processes
  • Proficiency with paint systems, paint robotics, and application equipment
  • Knowledge of paint quality tools
  • Understanding of industrial conveyors, paint booths, and visual paint inspection methods
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with AutoCAD or CATIA
  • Expertise in lean principles
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
