About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and enhance paint shop processes
- Provide technical support for automotive industrial paint processes and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Collaborate with Production and Maintenance to scope and implement new equipment
- Support processing standards for new product launches
- Act as a technical resource for the paint department and lead cross-functional improvement projects
- Create work instructions and workflow designs to improve manufacturing operations
- Develop and procure new tooling and modifications to existing fixtures
- Conduct hands-on training for manufacturing employees on products, processes, and equipment
- Lead company safety programs including inspections and documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in industrial/mechanical engineering or related field (or equivalent relevant work experience)
- At least 2 years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong background in industrial automotive painting processes
- Proficiency with paint systems, paint robotics, and application equipment
- Knowledge of paint quality tools
- Understanding of industrial conveyors, paint booths, and visual paint inspection methods
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with AutoCAD or CATIA
- Expertise in lean principles
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
