Process Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the process technology for production sites in El Salto to ensure compliance with legal obligations, engineering standards, and best practices.
• Lead the Management of Change (MOC) process for equipment, processes, products, and raw materials.
• Define and establish critical process variables, including measurement, monitoring, and control methods.
• Monitor process performance to detect improvement opportunities and establish actionable plans.
• Act as a technical expert in HAZOP processes and contribute to Process Safety Management (PSM) standards.
• Analyze process and quality failures to determine root causes and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Support the implementation of operational reliability philosophies and validate conceptual and basic engineering.
• Provide technical expertise during procurement processes by specifying requirements for new process equipment.
• Support project engineers with commissioning activities and identify business cases for specific investments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Process Engineering (10 years preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Management of Change (MOC) procedures.
• Proven experience with HAZOP and Process Safety Management (PSM) standards.
• Proficiency in PLC and DCS control systems.
• Ability to design process equipment including heat exchangers, pumps, and tanks.
• English language proficiency at a B1 level.
• Experience with unit operations, thermodynamic cycles, and physicochemical processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Process Engineering, Project Management, or Process Safety.
• Experience in high-temperature operational processes.
• Familiarity with P&ID and Process Safety Information (PSI).
• Knowledge of ISO Management Systems.
