About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance and engineering support to the manufacturing group, including extrusion, secondary operations, and packaging.
  • Develop new and cost-effective manufacturing concepts and lead scrap reduction teams using lean methodologies.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement irreversible corrective actions to resolve tooling and equipment problems.
  • Execute validation and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) protocols for new products, equipment, tooling, and processes.
  • Support new product launches through participation in FMEA, part/tool design reviews, and Kaizen events.
  • Generate and update process documentation, including work instructions, manufacturing procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Mentor extrusion technicians and collaborate with maintenance personnel to ensure process stability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Biomedical engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in medical device manufacturing and process improvement.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and systematic troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of college-level algebra, physics, chemistry, and statistics.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written formats.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with thermoplastics extrusion, molding, or assembly processes.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
