About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own the process for drying and crystallization unit operations of electrolyte production
  • Define and maintain process parameters, operating windows, and control strategies
  • Lead commissioning and validation for new drying and crystallization equipment
  • Translate material specifications into process parameters and in-process controls
  • Monitor process performance using SCADA and batch record data
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for process issues
  • Apply statistical tools like JMP or Minitab to evaluate process changes
  • Participate in PFMEAs, process hazard analyses, and management of change
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions
  • Provide process requirements for new equipment specifications
  • Partner with process optimization engineering on continuous improvement projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of process engineering experience in chemical, battery, advanced materials, or powder manufacturing
  • Hands-on experience with industrial or pilot-scale drying processes
  • Hands-on experience with high temperature solid-state crystallization or calcination processes
  • Knowledge of heat and mass transfer, drying kinetics, and phase transformation
  • Experience characterizing powder products (particle size, morphology, moisture, crystallinity)
  • Proficiency in JMP or Minitab for statistical analysis and DOE
  • Experience with PFMEA, process hazard analysis, and root cause analysis
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience handling air and moisture sensitive materials
  • Experience working in dry room or inert atmosphere environments
