About the role
Responsibilities
- Own the process for drying and crystallization unit operations of electrolyte production
- Define and maintain process parameters, operating windows, and control strategies
- Lead commissioning and validation for new drying and crystallization equipment
- Translate material specifications into process parameters and in-process controls
- Monitor process performance using SCADA and batch record data
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for process issues
- Apply statistical tools like JMP or Minitab to evaluate process changes
- Participate in PFMEAs, process hazard analyses, and management of change
- Develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions
- Provide process requirements for new equipment specifications
- Partner with process optimization engineering on continuous improvement projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of process engineering experience in chemical, battery, advanced materials, or powder manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with industrial or pilot-scale drying processes
- Hands-on experience with high temperature solid-state crystallization or calcination processes
- Knowledge of heat and mass transfer, drying kinetics, and phase transformation
- Experience characterizing powder products (particle size, morphology, moisture, crystallinity)
- Proficiency in JMP or Minitab for statistical analysis and DOE
- Experience with PFMEA, process hazard analysis, and root cause analysis
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling air and moisture sensitive materials
- Experience working in dry room or inert atmosphere environments
