About the role
Responsibilities
- Improve production efficiency and process flow by analyzing cycle times, changeover losses, and bottlenecks using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
- Execute scale-up activities to transition new and revised products into production, including preparing trial plans and coordinating pre-launch data capture.
- Apply mixing and dispersion science to achieve repeatable batch performance and material homogeneity.
- Standardize critical processes to protect First Pass Yield (FPY) through work instructions, control plans, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Perform process validation by executing protocols and compiling traceable records that meet ISO quality-system requirements.
- Resolve process-related customer issues using root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, including flow diagrams, PFMEAs, and change traceability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing or process engineering (adhesives experience preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalency).
- Proficiency in enterprise systems (JD Edwards E1 desirable) and SPC/BI tools for data analysis.
- Strong knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methods, process validation, PFMEA, and control plans.
- Excellent technical writing skills.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing plant environment, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 35 lbs.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for cross-site coordination or vendor support.
