Process Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the sheet glass manufacturing process for multiple production lines
• Provide engineering expertise to address manufacturing challenges and solve complex process issues
• Develop and maintain systems to monitor equipment and process performance
• Lead projects focused on cost reduction, process optimization, and technology migrations
• Execute process excellence (PEx) projects using DMAIC/DESIGN methodologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product output meets manufacturing goals
• Train the operations workforce on equipment or process changes
• Develop and update engineering and operations documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Glass/Ceramics, or Chemical preferred)
• Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong scientific and engineering problem-solving skills using the scientific method
• Experience in experimental design and analyzing data for process optimization
• Basic knowledge of Six Sigma (DMAIC/DESIGN) methodology

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
• Direct experience in glass manufacturing processes
• Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing techniques
• Broad knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and systems
