About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects aimed at achieving manufacturing performance targets for both new and existing processes
  • Define process limitations based on current equipment and process capabilities and recommend improvements
  • Develop a fundamental understanding of key processes to drive continuous improvement, yield improvement, and cost reduction
  • Provide guidance to management on project priority selection
  • Lead and support critical engineering and development projects that support plant goals and long-term objectives
  • Interface with and support development on new product and process introductions, raw material changes, and equipment design changes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of professional non-academic experience in a technical, engineering, or development role
  • Experience leading or supporting process improvement and process development efforts
  • Manufacturing background, ideally in environments involving chemical reactions or material transformation processes
  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with responsibility for project execution
  • Project management experience
  • Understanding of hypothesis testing, experiment planning, and statistical analysis
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methods such as KT, DMAIC, Six Sigma, or the scientific method
  • Ability to work effectively in a unionized environment
  • Green Belt or Black Belt certification
