Process Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject matter expert for lactic acid and derivatives processes.
• Provide engineering solutions for unique manufacturing problems and improvement opportunities.
• Identify process improvement areas related to production, revenue, reliability, and sustainability.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
• Lead process safety measures, including PHAs, MI, and MOC, to ensure adherence to global policies.
• Assist in root cause analyses and support front-end loading efforts for new project development.
• Collaborate with reliability engineers to align on equipment maintenance and standard operating conditions.
• Execute QESH standards to ensure personal, product, and environmental safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 5+ years of process engineering experience, preferably in biorefining, food, or chemical manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of industrial manufacturing equipment and their applications.
• Experience with root cause analysis and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
• Working knowledge of process safety strategies (PHA, MI, MOC).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Applications and the utilization of AI tools (e.g., Copilot).
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a food safety environment with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Proficiency with SAP.
