Process Engineer

Responsibilities

• Maximize plant production and optimize KPIs while ensuring products meet environmental and quality specifications
• Initiate, develop, and implement plant improvement projects to eliminate equipment restrictions and improve performance
• Provide technical expertise to plant personnel through training programs, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting
• Perform mass and heat balances, hydraulic calculations, and equipment diagnostics to ensure operational efficiency
• Optimize specific heat and power consumption, PID settings, and environmental reagent usage
• Maintain process flow charts, equipment information, and data logs to track performance and actions
• Adhere to all safety regulations (CEMEX, MSHA, OSHA) and participate in risk assessments and accident investigations

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Engineering (Chemical preferred), or a related major
• 5 years of progressive experience in heavy industrial manufacturing
• Basic understanding of raw geologic materials (limestone, clay, sand, etc.) and their chemical compositions
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
• Ability to work in environments with exposure to extreme heat, cold, and noise

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in the cement process
• Experience in continuous process or bulk-material handling operations
• Proficiency with PI/Seeq or similar data analysis tools
