Process Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and implement scalable manufacturing processes for fiber array units
• Optimize processes to improve yield, cycle time, and cost-effectiveness
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and production teams to transition new designs into full-scale production
• Identify and integrate new technologies and equipment to enhance manufacturing capabilities
• Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including SOPs and FMEA
• Lead continuous improvement efforts using lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
• Analyze root causes of process failures and implement corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and promote workplace safety

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in process development or manufacturing, preferably in optics or photonics
• Strong knowledge of fiber optic components, including arrays, connectors, and splicing
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and software tools such as Minitab or JMP
• Familiarity with CAD software for fixture design
• Understanding of cleanroom practices and handling of precision optical components
• Fluent in English for communication and documentation

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with fiber array units, fiber alignment, or micro-assembly processes
• Skilled in Design of Experiments (DOE) for process problem-solving
• Experience establishing laboratory operations and protocols
