About the role

Responsibilities

  • Participate in consumable product development, manufacturing process development, and product improvements.
  • Represent Operations needs on development teams to ensure effective product transfer into manufacturing.
  • Define technical requirements for manufacturing processes and new production equipment.
  • Support the qualification of new processes, systems, tools, and equipment.
  • Construct and execute controlled experiments, including DOEs, to optimize processes and address yield or quality issues.
  • Author manufacturing procedures and instructions, and train production operators in a GMP environment.
  • Utilize 6-sigma, DFSS, 8D, and DMAIC methodologies to solve issues during new product introductions.
  • Perform feasibility and characterization studies to ensure product quality and availability.

Requirements

  • B.S./M.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, Bioengineering, Manufacturing, or Material Science with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • PhD in a relevant field with 0+ years of relevant experience.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes within regulated biotech or medical device environments.
  • Experience with engineering tools and software such as R, Python, or JMP.
  • Proficiency in FMEA, DMAIC, and 8D methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Assurance and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical report writing skills.
