About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing support, administration, and programming for Emerson DeltaV and Moore APACS systems in a mixed-mode manufacturing environment.
- Lead process control improvement projects, including managing schedules, budgets, and testing (FAT/SAT).
- Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize sequential programming (recipes) to improve yield and reduce cycle time.
- Oversee system maintenance activities performed by contractors and ensure proper system backups and documentation.
- Manage the implementation and start-up of new recipes and automation opportunities for new product introductions.
- Assist in the administration and support of the site’s OSI/PI historian system.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PEO) registration or eligibility is required.
- 5+ years of direct experience in industrial chemical plant operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in Emerson DeltaV process control systems in both batch and continuous environments.
- Solid understanding of the ISA S88 Batch Process Control Standard.
- Familiarity with communication platforms including EthernetIP, DeviceNet, and Modbus.
- Knowledge of electrical systems compliant with Section 18 of the Canadian Electrical Code.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with OSI/PI process historian systems.
- Experience with three-phase AC motors, industrial motor controls, and variable frequency drives.
- Proven track record executing projects involving new control systems, process instrumentation, and HMI.
