About the role
Responsibilities
- Execute and oversee complex laboratory work, primarily GC and LC, to support manufacturing decisions and process performance evaluations.
- Provide real-time troubleshooting on the manufacturing floor to ensure timely resolution of analytical questions.
- Design and execute statistically sound experiments, including DOE, to interpret complex datasets and provide risk-based recommendations.
- Lead process performance evaluations, robustness studies, and root cause analysis for deviations, CAPA, and complaints.
- Partner cross-functionally with QC, QA, R&D, and Global Operations to align analytical strategies with product requirements.
- Author, review, and approve high-quality technical documentation, including protocols, validation reports, and investigations.
- Drive continuous improvement of chromatography capabilities, including equipment maintenance and method robustness.
Requirements
- BS in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with gas chromatography (GC) and liquid chromatography (HPLC/UHPLC).
- Expertise in polymer/monomer synthesis and formulation within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Broad working knowledge of analytical detectors such as MS, UV, FID, and ECD.
- Strong technical writing skills for authoring protocols and investigation reports.
- Demonstrated commitment to laboratory safety, quality systems, and data integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Experience with LCMS and/or GCMS for trace analysis and impurity profiling.
- Knowledge of additional analytical techniques such as NMR, SEM, or Karl Fischer.
- Experience working in GMP or regulated environments, including change control and CAPA.
- Familiarity with method validation, method transfer, and statistical tools.
