About the role

Responsibilities

  • Define electrical and automation objectives for capacity expansion projects
  • Oversee automation process design from milk receiving to finished product
  • Assist in development and commercialization of new technologies and processes
  • Develop and update electrical and automation functional specifications
  • Review plant designs to reduce food safety risk and improve efficiency
  • Solve complex process problems and manage plant escalations
  • Support development of process monitoring and situational awareness systems
  • Define standards for equipment accuracy and efficiency
  • Ensure plant compliance with environmental and FDA regulations
  • Support startup, commissioning, and validation activities
  • Execute Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) protocols
  • Serve as a key decision maker in vendor selection and contract negotiation

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership in automation engineering and operations
  • Bachelor of science in electrical, mechanical, computer, or chemical engineering
  • Proven track record in manufacturing process re-design and automation
  • Programming experience with Allen Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, SLC500) and Siemens
  • Proficiency in PLCs, SCADA, and HMI systems
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and international standards
  • Proficiency with control system and PC networking technologies
  • Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or other relational databases
  • Familiarity with industrial instrumentation (flow meters, level transmitters, etc.)
  • Ability to travel 25-50% including international travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft PowerBI
