About the role
Responsibilities
- Define electrical and automation objectives for capacity expansion projects
- Oversee automation process design from milk receiving to finished product
- Assist in development and commercialization of new technologies and processes
- Develop and update electrical and automation functional specifications
- Review plant designs to reduce food safety risk and improve efficiency
- Solve complex process problems and manage plant escalations
- Support development of process monitoring and situational awareness systems
- Define standards for equipment accuracy and efficiency
- Ensure plant compliance with environmental and FDA regulations
- Support startup, commissioning, and validation activities
- Execute Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) protocols
- Serve as a key decision maker in vendor selection and contract negotiation
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive leadership in automation engineering and operations
- Bachelor of science in electrical, mechanical, computer, or chemical engineering
- Proven track record in manufacturing process re-design and automation
- Programming experience with Allen Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, SLC500) and Siemens
- Proficiency in PLCs, SCADA, and HMI systems
- Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and international standards
- Proficiency with control system and PC networking technologies
- Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or other relational databases
- Familiarity with industrial instrumentation (flow meters, level transmitters, etc.)
- Ability to travel 25-50% including international travel

- Experience with Microsoft PowerBI
