Probe Services Machinist

Responsibilities

• Fabricate small, complex parts (often less than 1 inch) for Non-interference stress measurement (NSMS) probes using magnification
• Create holding fixtures required for the manufacture of NSMS probe parts
• Fabricate instrumentation and specialized test equipment parts to support development testing
• Modify development testing hardware for commercial, military, and APU engine programs
• Maintain shop tooling and cutting tool inventory
• Collaborate with Measurement Systems Engineering, optics installation, and test operations groups

Requirements

• AA/AS degree or other 2-year post-high school training
• 8 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment
• U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical machinist trade school certification or manufacturing degree
• Experience with CNC machining and machine control programming (MasterCam)
• Proficiency in dimensional inspection (MicroVU) and comparator operation
• Experience with AutoCAD, Wire EDM, machine setup, and blueprint reading
• Strong knowledge of algebra, geometry, and Model Based Design (MBD)
