Principal/Senior PV Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of PV-related development within ARAQYS solar array products
• Drive the adaptation of photovoltaic technologies to space environments, addressing radiation, thermal cycling, and contamination
• Evaluate and mature novel PV technologies for high-power space applications
• Define PV integration approaches, including cell interconnection and electrical architectures
• Design and develop prototypes, breadboards, and flight hardware
• Plan and execute test campaigns including thermal vacuum, vibration, and radiation testing
• Interface with PV suppliers and technology partners to define technical requirements
• Contribute to system-level design and product architecture alongside mechanical and thermal teams
• Maintain technical performance understanding regarding BOL/EOL performance and degradation

Requirements

• MS or PhD in photovoltaics, semiconductor physics, materials science, or electrical engineering
• Strong technical understanding of photovoltaic devices and electrical behavior of solar arrays
• Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes related to PV integration
• Proven ability to translate theoretical understanding into practical engineering solutions
• Hands-on experience with hardware development, prototyping, or experimental setups
• Experience working across disciplines in system-level engineering
• Fluent in English
• Eligible to work in Germany
