Principal/Senior Principal - Cloud - Build (Migration/Modernization)

Responsibilities

• Lead technical solutioning and delivery for cloud migration and modernization projects
• Design and implement well-architected, scalable systems tailored to client needs
• Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, articulating ROI, risk, and technical value
• Define project activities, staffing plans, cost estimations, and schedules for SOWs
• Contribute to business development by leading solutioning during proposal phases
• Represent Slalom at industry events, conferences, and alliance partnerships

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in application development (5+ years in enterprise environments)
• 3+ years of professional consulting experience
• Hands-on experience delivering cloud migration or modernization projects
• Experience with application rationalization or 7R evaluation
• Proven track record in technical leadership and project management
• Demonstrable experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Business-level Japanese and conversational English

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in at least one programming language
• Expertise in two or more major cloud providers
• Industry experience in manufacturing, financial services, retail, or heavy industry
• Experience with migration or code conversion tooling (e.g., AWS MGN, Cloudamize)
• Leadership experience in AI, data platforms, or developer platforms
