Principal/Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Server/BigFix Patch Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-wide patch management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance initiatives using BigFix and Qualys.
• Maintain the core BigFix environment, including Root Servers, Relay hierarchies, and Database Replication.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot BigFix client and infrastructure health, including relay placement and Peer Nest.
• Develop automation scripts using PowerShell or Python to streamline manual patch operations and improve efficiency.
• Build compliance dashboards using BigFix Insights for Vulnerability Remediation (IVR) to provide executive-level reporting.
• Act as a technical escalation point and mentor L2 teams on advanced scripting, APIs, and complex technical issues.
• Oversee pre-deployment patch testing in pilot environments to ensure compatibility and prevent business disruptions.
• Lead rapid assessments and accelerated rollouts in response to critical zero-day threats.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Server OS patch management (Windows and RHEL) and vulnerability remediation.
• Expert-level knowledge of the BigFix framework, including BigFix Relevance and ActionScript.
• Proficiency in PowerShell and/or Python for task automation.
• Extensive experience administering BigFix or similar enterprise tools like Microsoft SCCM.
• Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Qualys.
• Strong working knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, GPOs, and SSH.
• Deep understanding of Microsoft SQL database procedures and schemas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within the banking or financial services industry.
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
• Knowledge of network topology, security principles, and enterprise banking applications.
• Proficiency with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
