Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments
• Administer and optimize Group Policy Objects (GPOs) across enterprise domains
• Conduct security and vulnerability scanning and remediate identified vulnerabilities
• Manage Windows Update deployment strategies and WSUS administration
• Oversee Linux virtual machine environments within hybrid infrastructure
• Design and troubleshoot complex networking configurations including VPNs, subnets, and firewalls
• Architect and maintain Azure infrastructure components
• Lead Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance efforts
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior system administrators
• Collaborate with DevSecOps teams to integrate infrastructure-as-code practices

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship and active secret security clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Windows system administration
• Advanced expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop deployment and management
• Proficiency in Group Policy and Active Directory environments
• Experience with security scanning tools like Nessus, Qualys, or Rapid7
• Proven track record managing WSUS or equivalent patch management
• Experience administering Linux virtual machines (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
• Solid understanding of Azure cloud services and networking
• Hands-on experience implementing STIG compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
• Microsoft certifications (Azure Administrator, Solutions Architect, etc.)
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, ARM, Bicep)
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
• Background supporting Department of Defense (DoD) environments
• Experience with monitoring tools like Azure Monitor or Grafana
