About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead cooling equipment innovation projects for the Data Center portfolio, including the design and testing of new hardware solutions like Cooling Distribution Units (CDU).
  • Manage and drive projects that deliver unique hardware solutions for direct-to-chip cooling applications.
  • Create and evaluate new mechanical design concepts for innovative liquid and immersion cooling technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales leaders, researchers, and OEM partners, to solve complex water usage and energy efficiency problems.
  • Ensure the protection of intellectual property through patenting, licensing, and joint development agreements.
  • Develop solutions to complex research problems requiring high levels of creativity and ingenuity.

Requirements

  • Degree or advanced degree (BS, MS, or PhD) in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with a BS, 3 years with an MS, or a PhD.
  • Proven experience in thermal/mechanical engineering and thermal management systems, preferably for Data Center hardware.
  • Expertise in electronics cooling, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermal control systems.
  • Hands-on experience with experimental testing and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of cooling technologies, including cold plates and cooling distribution units (CDU).
  • Strong understanding of customer requirements, industry standards, and regulations related to cooling hardware.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively in a global R&D environment.
