Principal Systems Engineer, Radar Development

Responsibilities

• Translate product and customer use cases into measurable system requirements and performance budgets
• Define and maintain radar system architecture across hardware, firmware, algorithms, and product interfaces
• Lead system decomposition into subsystems to define specific subsystem requirements
• Utilize system budgets to manage tradeoffs among competing technical requirements
• Lead system-level performance closure through analytical modeling, simulation, and field data interpretation
• Enable integration readiness by collaborating with cross-functional hardware and software leads
• Establish verification philosophy, including strategy, requirement coverage, traceability, and reporting
• Serve as a principal technical voice in roadmap and design reviews

Requirements

• BS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience developing complex embedded or electronic systems from concept through production
• Proven experience leading systems engineering for products involving RF/mixed-signal electronics, embedded firmware, and application software
• Strong analytical skills for system modeling, trade studies, and data-driven debugging
• Proficiency with engineering tools such as Python or MATLAB and experience with systems debugging at HW/SW boundaries

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with radar systems, RF design, or sensing technologies
• Experience delivering radar products into commercial markets
• Domain knowledge in waveform/mode considerations and environmental constraints (FMCW or pulse Doppler preferred)
• Exposure to radar algorithms including clutter mitigation, interference suppression, calibration, and tracking/state estimation
