Principal Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Capture, analyze, decompose, and trace complex system requirements.
• Design, develop, and model systems and subsystems using SysML.
• Create, execute, and verify system and subsystem test procedures.
• Lead system integration and troubleshooting across embedded software, hardware, and system-of-systems environments.
• Use JIRA to decompose epics and features into user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Manage project work including schedules, technical risks, costs, and performance objectives.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams in both meeting and classified lab environments.

Requirements

• STEM degree plus 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree plus 5 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience designing network architectures using physical and virtual networks.
• Experience with VMware or cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, or Oracle.
• Proven experience in Agile leadership roles (e.g., Scrum Master or Product Owner).
• Experience in capturing customer requirements and deriving/tracing system requirements.
• U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Top Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active or current U.S. security clearance.
• Proficiency with MBSE tools like MagicDraw CAMEO, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect.
• Expertise in building complex SysML models (activity, state, block diagrams, etc.).
• Knowledge of Project Management, Control Account Management (CAM), and earned value.
• Familiarity with bidding and project/task estimation tools like SEER.
