Principal Systems Engineer – Algorithms

Responsibilities

• Develop algorithms, tools, and models for the Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS) program
• Run and test modeling and simulation of algorithmic models using Simulink and MATLAB
• Provide technical guidance to the team for system troubleshooting and analysis
• Draft technical papers, algorithm descriptions, and mathematical derivations
• Lead technical discussions with customers and internal team members

Requirements

• Proficiency in MATLAB, including code optimization and numerical stability
• Experience with model-driven design using Simulink and auto-generated code
• Strong understanding of software development principles, configuration control, and formal processes
• Ability to perform complex data analysis, outlier analysis, and system-level problem solving
• Experience with systems engineering disciplines
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 8+ years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with 5+ years of experience
• U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GPS Navigation Systems and Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) theory
• Experience performing complex statistical analysis and mathematical modeling
• Experience with requirement development and sell-off
