Principal Solutions Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own complex, strategic enterprise deals end-to-end, leading technical strategy from discovery through POC design and technical close.
• Mentor and multiply the SE team by coaching deal strategy, reviewing technical approaches, and building shared assets like demo environments and integration blueprints.
• Architect solutions across IT workload automation, data orchestration, IT workflow orchestration, and DevOps automation.
• Demonstrate Redwood's AI capabilities, including agentic orchestration and GenAI-powered workflows, to principal architects and CTO-level buyers.
• Shape competitive strategy by providing field intelligence to Product, Marketing, and SE leadership.
• Create lasting technical leverage through the authorship of demo scripts, POC frameworks, and technical content.

Requirements

• 7+ years in pre-sales, solutions engineering, or an adjacent technical role, with at least 3 years at a senior or principal level.
• Deep SAP ecosystem expertise, specifically with S/4HANA, RISE with SAP, and SAP BTP.
• Extensive domain expertise in workload automation, job scheduling, and orchestration at scale.
• Strong technical depth with REST API proficiency and scripting skills in Python or bash.
• Proven track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder technical evaluations and long sales cycles.
• Ability to engage C-suite and VP-level stakeholders as both a technical expert and business advisor.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a team lead, practice lead, or SE manager.
• Familiarity with data pipeline technologies such as ETL/ELT, Airflow, dbt, or Spark.
• Hands-on DevOps experience including CI/CD pipelines, jobs-as-code, or infrastructure-as-code.
• Published technical content or conference presentations in the automation, cloud, or AI space.
