Principal Solution Architect

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design for a future platform of sales, products, and services by assessing existing systems and emerging business models.
• Align SKF IT infrastructure with Digital Engineering & Innovation (DE&I) and Technology Development business requirements.
• Continuously research, evaluate, and implement new technologies within the DE&I and TD domains.
• Analyze existing systems and processes to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains.
• Maintain clear communication with DE&I Management and Global IT to ensure alignment between systems and business needs.
• Evaluate market technology options, including software and hardware solutions, for suitability.

Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or a related field.
• 15+ years of overall professional experience.
• 5-10+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading architectural decisions or managing teams.
• Deep knowledge of cloud computing, enterprise data management, and IT infrastructure.
• Proficiency in programming languages and database management.
• Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, ZACHMAN, or GARTNER.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and event-driven systems.
• Working knowledge of development operations and automation tools like Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of IAM, encryption, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO).
• Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
