Principal Software QA Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end quality engineering for complex networking features across manual and automation test areas.
• Drive test strategy, planning, execution, and automation for L2/L3 networking use cases in appliance and system-level environments.
• Design, build, and enhance scalable automation frameworks using Python, Terraform, and Robot Framework.
• Validate switching and routing behavior with a strong focus on functional, regression, and system testing.
• Work hands-on with traffic generation and validation tools to ensure feature quality, scale, and performance.
• Troubleshoot complex issues using logs and traffic analysis to drive root cause analysis.
• Mentor team members and influence quality standards and automation best practices across the organization.

Requirements

• 15 to 20 years of strong experience in software QA engineering with exposure to networking products.
• Hands-on experience in automation using Python, Terraform, and Robot Framework.
• Deep understanding of L2 and L3 switching and routing protocols, including OSPF, BGP, STP, and LACP.
• Hands-on experience with traffic generation tools such as Xena, Spirent, or T-Rex.
• Strong experience in test case design, execution, debugging, and release validation.
• Ability to analyze complex issues in distributed or network-heavy environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with traffic validation and observability tools such as Splunk and ELK.
• Exposure to mTLS and security certificate validation.
• Experience working with firewall technologies and related security validation scenarios.
