Principal Software Engineering Manager - AI Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead a full-stack AI engineering team of data scientists, ML engineers, software engineers, and data engineers
• Set technical direction across the stack and turn applied research into production systems
• Build, orchestrate, and deploy production-ready LLM, SLM, and agentic architectures (RAG, fine-tuning, eval pipelines, context engineering)
• Take full ownership from data ingestion pipelines to consumer-facing APIs
• Partner across product, research, and engineering functions to deliver end-to-end
• Build, mentor, and develop a full stack AI team, including hiring and performance management

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in AI, Software, Data Engineering, or ML
• 2+ years of direct experience leading engineers
• Proven track record deploying foundation models, RAG, fine-tuning, and agentic systems into production
• Strong full-stack skills in Python, FastAPI, distributed computing, serverless, and AWS (Bedrock/SageMaker)
• Experience with data pipelines (Glue/Spark), model serving, MLOps, and vector search/RAG
• Success in hiring and mentoring technical talent

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep ML/DS knowledge in statistical modeling, NLP, Hugging Face, and ensembles
• Exposure to cybersecurity, fraud, or adversarial domains
