Principal Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Guide product concepts through the entire process using agentic AI, from problem definition to data-informed launch
• Build production-quality agent systems, analyses, prompts, and supporting services hands-on
• Direct the build process through data-driven insights and testable hypotheses
• Contribute to the department's agentic AI harness engineering, including LLMs, agents, and eval frameworks
• Raise engineering standards for architecture, code review, test strategy, and observability
• Lead technical direction and influence product decisions to support EM and PM effectiveness
• Contribute to hiring by leading technical interviews and mentoring senior engineers

Requirements

• Direct experience creating, deploying, and improving agentic AI systems in real-world settings
• Over 10 years of full-stack software engineering experience
• At least 3 years in a Tech Lead, Staff, or Principal role
• Proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one of Go, Python, or C#
• Strong foundation in AWS, containerization, CI/CD, PostgreSQL, and API development (REST/gRPC/GraphQL)
• Strong architectural judgment and ability to defend build decisions
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading or contributing to platform or horizontal services
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
• Experience with Kubernetes, Akamai, or Terraform
• Experience operating in a tri-lead (TL/EM/PM) matrixed engineering model
• Knowledge of Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, or tabletop gaming
