Principal Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and test advanced software capabilities for military aircraft platforms
• Contribute to next-generation avionics architectures to enhance interoperability and mission effectiveness
• Apply technical principles and theories to develop mission-critical software products
• Work both independently and collaboratively within high-performing multi-site teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline
• 8+ years of C++ development experience
• Experience with Open Mission Systems (OMS) software architecture and development
• C++ mission software development in Linux environments
• Proficiency with middleware and data distribution (DDS, pub/sub architectures)
• Experience with service-oriented and event-driven software design
• Experience developing service contracts, interface definitions, and ICD development
• Experience with mission-level simulation and integration testing
• Active Secret Security Clearance
• Ability to work onsite 100% and travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with Atlassian tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket)
• Software development experience in Java
• Knowledge of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and FACE technical standards
• Experience with CI/CD and configuration management for mission software
• Experience integrating third-party mission applications
