Principal Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems including processing-intensive analytics and real-time systems
• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
• Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features
• Serve as technical lead for multiple software development teams
• Oversee software development teams to ensure work meets process constraints
• Implement recommendations for improving documentation and development standards
• Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning
• Perform quality control on team products and ensure software adherence to design requirements

Requirements

• TS/SCI with a Polygraph
• 20 years of experience as a Software Engineer in similar programs
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline (or 24 years total experience)
• 10 years of experience with Java SE, Python, Git, Shell/bash, Nexus, Maven, and JavaScript/HTML5/CSS3
• Experience with software architecture development and requirements analysis
• Experience with Agile development methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitLab CI
• Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Tool Suite, Jenkins, Hibernate, and MySQL
• Experience with monitoring tools like Kibana, Grafana, or Nagios
• Experience with automated testing tools like SonarQube
