Principal Software Engineer, Team Lead - Perception Platforms

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and manage a high-performing team creating and optimizing internal data, training, and evaluation pipelines
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and career development to team members
• Define team goals, priorities, and roadmaps in alignment with company objectives
• Work closely with ML engineers to identify and resolve technical challenges and optimize machine learning workflows
• Lead design and code reviews to ensure high quality and best practices
• Foster cross-functional collaboration across the organization

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 3+ years in a formal or informal leadership or mentorship role
• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Fluency in Python and familiarity with NumPy and Pandas
• Proven experience in backend development and complex system architecture
• Deep understanding of ML or Perception topics
• Experience designing and delivering data visualization tools or engineering dashboards
• Expert knowledge of software engineering principles, source control, and testing methods

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in concurrency, parallel processing, and database systems
• Experience with distributed computing frameworks like K8s and Ray
• Track record in developing Perception systems for autonomous vehicles or robotics
• Proficiency in modern C++ (C++14/17 or later)
• Experience with LLMs and MCP protocols
• Experience with GPU-accelerated data processing
• Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or other ML platforms
