Principal Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Write, review, and own production C++ code across the server platform, including URL rating and cloud categorization relay servers
• Drive security hardening of the binary UDP protocol and encryption key management
• Modernize memory ownership patterns and improve concurrency safety
• Set coding standards and provide technical mentorship to Senior Engineers
• Establish automated testing strategies and oversee GitLab CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with US-based engineering and management to communicate project status and risks

Requirements

• Expert-level C++17 (move semantics, smart pointers, concurrency primitives, RAII)
• Strong Linux systems programming (POSIX threads, epoll, UDP socket programming)
• Experience with high-throughput server design and performance benchmarking
• Applied cryptography including AES-CBC and key management
• Familiarity with CMake, Linux packaging (DEB/RPM), and GitLab CI/CD
• Excellent written English for asynchronous collaboration
• 10+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with binary protocol design and DNS protocol internals
• Experience with RabbitMQ or AMQP
• Background in network security, UTM appliances, or content filtering products
• Experience integrating closed-source third-party SDKs into CMake builds
