Principal Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead development and optimization of a key dataplane module for SonicWall NGFW platforms
• Design, implement, and enhance high‑performance packet‑processing paths using DPDK, ODP, or OFP
• Diagnose and resolve complex performance, throughput, and latency issues in the dataplane
• Collaborate with platform, networking, security, and QA teams to deliver features and product improvements
• Prototype and evaluate new dataplane technologies
• Influence architectural decisions and long‑term technical direction for dataplane components

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in C/C++ systems‑level development
• Expertise in DPDK, ODP, or OFP frameworks
• Solid understanding of L3/L4 networking protocols (IPv4/IPv6, routing, NAT, VPN/IPsec/SSL)
• Proven ability to build multi‑threaded, low‑latency, high‑throughput systems
• Strong knowledge of OS internals, memory, and concurrency models
• Excellent debugging and performance tuning skills
