Principal Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end technical architecture of the malware analysis cloud infrastructure platform, including the Python analysis pipeline and TypeScript web UI
• Lead design and implementation of new detection capabilities such as ML-based classifiers and behavioral analysis enhancements
• Drive the evolution of the RabbitMQ-based job orchestration pipeline for improved throughput and reliability
• Own the Windows VM sandbox subsystem, including KVM/libvirt VM lifecycle and behavioral log collection
• Identify and retire technical debt to rationalize the codebase and reduce maintenance surface
• Define and enforce coding standards, testing strategies, and code review practices
• Manage the full software delivery lifecycle from design to Docker/Debian packaging and Ubuntu deployment
• Monitor system health via log aggregation and metrics dashboards
• Mentor and provide technical direction to senior software engineers

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience (or equivalent with advanced degree)
• Expert-level Python proficiency, including multithreading and Cython
• Working proficiency in C and C++ for compiled components
• Solid experience with message queue architectures like RabbitMQ
• Strong background in malware analysis, sandbox systems, or security software
• Familiarity with ML model inference in production (PyTorch, LightGBM, or scikit-learn)
• Linux system programming experience and familiarity with KVM/libvirt
• Proficiency with MySQL/MSSQL, Redis, and Consul in microservices contexts
• Experience with Docker, Jenkins CI/CD, and Debian packaging
• Ability to independently navigate and own large legacy codebases
• Strong written English for technical documentation
