Principal Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of strategic org-wide or company-wide initiatives
• Identify and resolve systemic business, technical, or organizational problems
• Define long-term architectural direction across the platform and align stakeholders
• Drive alignment across divisions to resolve technical and organizational conflicts
• Raise engineering maturity by improving culture and processes
• Mentor engineers across the organization and contribute to recruiting
• Partner with Product, Marketing, Operations, and Legal teams to deliver technical solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 7+ years in a technical leadership role
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or similar object-oriented languages
• Experience with public cloud compute, storage, and infrastructure
• Experience with Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and Spring Boot
• Deep understanding of relational and document database fundamentals
• Deep understanding of microservices design and scaling mission-critical systems
• Expert proficiency with GIT and CI/CD systems
• Experience leading and improving Agile methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS technologies (DynamoDB, RDS, Lambda, Kinesis, SQS, S3, Athena)
• Full-stack engineering experience
