Principal Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical leader on critical, cross-functional projects
• Break down complex problems and build consensus for scalable solutions
• Build product roadmaps while delivering high-impact results
• Balance long-term architectural thinking with immediate business needs
• Manage trade-offs between consistency, performance, scaling limits, and costs
• Ensure operational readiness regarding durability, availability, performance, and security

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems, databases, or cloud services
• Solid understanding of database fundamentals and experience with Postgres
• Strong systems programming experience
• Experience building high-availability, multi-tenant, or highly distributed data systems
• Ability to navigate large, complex codebases and lead cross-team architecture efforts
• Proven track record of driving projects from concept to production
• Excellent communication and influence skills across engineering and product organizations

Preferred Qualifications

• Ruby programming experience
