Principal Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as the embedded senior technical lead at Aberdeen Proving Ground to install, integrate, and operate Raft products
• Own end-to-end product deployment, environment preparation, and integration with Army data sources
• Write and contribute production-quality code in Go, Java, or Rust to address field-driven gaps
• Build and maintain installation and troubleshooting playbooks for connected and disconnected environments
• Apply DevSecOps practices including CI/CD, container builds, and infrastructure as code
• Deploy and debug Kubernetes workloads, including Helm charts and networking troubleshooting
• Capture customer feedback and translate it into actionable input for product and engineering teams

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship
• Production coding experience in Go, Java, or Rust
• Strong DevSecOps experience (CI/CD, containers, IaC)
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Helm, and container orchestration
• Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python
• Ability to obtain Security+ certification within 90 days
• Willingness to commute to or relocate near Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience at Aberdeen Proving Ground or supporting Army programs (C5ISR, PEO C3T, etc.)
• Experience with Army data standards (MIL-STD-2525, Link 16, VMF, TAK)
• Experience deploying Kubernetes in DDIL or tactical edge environments
• Experience with IL4 through IL6 environments and RMF/ATO processes
• Experience with Kafka, Iceberg, or AI/ML deployment workflows
• Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance
