Principal Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the agentic platform end-to-end, building the durable orchestration layer for long-running, multi-stage scientific workflows.
• Architect workflow orchestration, evaluation frameworks, and event-driven distributed systems to ensure scale and reliability.
• Define SDK abstractions and API contracts to decouple rapid model iteration from product stability.
• Deliver infrastructure-as-code reference implementations using AWS CDK, Terraform, and containerized services.
• Set technical standards, code quality, and architectural direction for the platform.
• Partner with AI scientists and product teams to align on integration points and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven track record architecting and maintaining large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Deep expertise in workflow orchestration and event-driven architecture (stateful execution, idempotency, and durable retries).
• Strong cloud-native engineering skills on AWS, including infrastructure-as-code and containerization.
• Experience designing SDKs, APIs, and data contracts for multiple downstream teams.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with agentic AI and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Pydantic AI, LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, or AutoGen).
• Experience integrating LLMs via platforms like Anthropic, OpenAI, Vertex AI, or Amazon Bedrock.
• Familiarity with sandboxed code execution and agent harness development.
• Experience with LLM observability, monitoring, and FinOps for AI infrastructure.
• Background in scientific domains such as biology or chemistry.
