Principal Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the technical roadmap and author system designs for scalable card issuing and payment processing products
• Write, review, and optimize code across the issuing and processing stack
• Drive high-impact technical initiatives to improve performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency
• Collaborate with Product Managers to provide technical recommendations across core domains
• Mentor technical leads and establish success metrics for technical excellence
• Evangelize modern best practices in software design to increase platform resiliency

Requirements

• 12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• Experience developing and scaling microservices using AWS
• Experience with high volume and low latency data infrastructures
• Strong understanding of security engineering best practices
• Experience building systems running in multiple regions
• Proficiency with Java, Springboot, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Kafka, JPOS, and AWS
• Proven ability to lead projects and work cross-functionally

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Software Engineering
• Experience in payment processing, card issuing, or the payments industry
• Domain experience in authorization, clearing, settlement, tokenization, or ledger systems
