Principal Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define and drive architecture for enterprise software platforms and core product capabilities
• Lead the design of secure, scalable, and performant software systems across AWS and hybrid environments
• Serve as a technical authority for SaaS platforms, installable agents, and distributed systems
• Partner with engineering leadership and product management to shape technical strategy and roadmaps
• Establish engineering standards for code quality, security, reliability, and observability
• Mentor Staff and Senior Staff engineers through design and architecture reviews
• Identify and resolve systemic technical challenges and architectural gaps
• Communicate complex technical strategies and trade-offs to stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 12+ years of software engineering experience
• Significant experience with SaaS platforms, distributed systems, or large-scale data collection
• Proven experience as a technical leader across multiple teams or major platform initiatives
• Deep expertise in software architecture, system design, and application security
• Hands-on experience reviewing architecture and code for enterprise-scale systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Java, C#, .NET, MySQL, SQL, and AWS
• Experience modernizing legacy platforms or integrating acquired products
• Strong understanding of agent-based software and distributed data collection
• Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction across cross-functional stakeholders
