Principal Software Engineer in Test (SDET)

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor junior QA engineers in test planning, automation, and debugging
• Define test coverage strategies for new features and deployment scenarios
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable Python-based test suites using Pytest
• Build and improve end-to-end and regression test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines via Jenkins and GitLab
• Design and execute test cases covering FPGAs, bootloaders, and host runtime drivers
• Validate firmware behavior, embedded architectures, and IO technologies including PCIe
• Partner with software, product, and systems teams on test coverage and risk assessment

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
• 10+ years of industry experience
• 8+ years of software development experience with strong data structures and algorithms knowledge
• 8+ years of experience testing lower-layer software stacks (FPGAs, bootloaders, drivers)
• 5+ years of experience in firmware design and troubleshooting
• 3+ years of experience with embedded architectures and IO technologies (PCIe, GPUs, CPUs)
• Fluency in Python programming
• Proven ability to debug complex issues spanning hardware and software boundaries

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with machine learning frameworks and ML accelerator architectures
• Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) and the inference stack
• Prior experience in a principal or staff-level QA or test engineering role
