Principal Software Engineer (IAM)

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design and evolution of secure, high-throughput IAM systems
• Own end-to-end technical design for identity lifecycle management, authentication, and authorization
• Define the technical roadmap for migrating legacy systems to modern distributed architectures
• Collaborate with Product, Security, and UX teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Mentor senior engineers and set standards for engineering excellence through code reviews and design docs
• Oversee platform reliability, observability, and resilience

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 5+ years at Senior Staff or Principal level
• Deep expertise in IAM protocols including OAuth2, OIDC, and SAML
• Extensive experience with Active Directory and federation protocols
• Proven track record designing and debugging large-scale distributed systems
• Proficiency in Go, Java, TypeScript, or Rust
• Experience designing and versioning public-facing APIs
• Expertise in data security, Kubernetes security, and access control

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Kibana
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform
• Background in security engineering or formal verification of protocols
• History of leading multi-quarter projects from conception to global rollout
