Principal Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement shared software components and services for heterogeneous multi-core systems
• Improve process communication and integrate application functionality into final products
• Debug and troubleshoot complex issues within hardware and software environments
• Ensure product robustness and high quality through test automation
• Collaborate and communicate with internal Cognex teams across various global locations
• Perform occasional travel to the USA or Hungary as required

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience
• Expertise in C and C++
• Proven experience working with embedded systems
• Strong Angular and TypeScript skills for large-scale frontend applications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python coding
• Knowledge of software architecture, API development, or embedded Linux
• Ability to rapidly adopt new frameworks and modern frontend architectures
